I'm just thinking if someone can give me a few pointers here so that I can understand the basics of going to use polynomials real life-examples. I find solving equations really tough . I work in the evening and thus have no time left to take extra classes. Can you guys suggest any online tool that can assist me with this subject?

Have you checked out Algebrator? This is a great help tool and I have used it several times to help me with my going to use polynomials real life-examples problems. It is really very simple -you just need to enter the problem and it will give you a step by step solution that can help solve your assignment . Try it out and see if it helps .

I agree, resources on the internet are no better than the college books. Algebrator is a good way to start your math career.

perpendicular lines, multiplying matrices and perpendicular lines were a nightmare for me until I found Algebrator, which is truly the best algebra program that I have come across. I have used it through many algebra classes – College Algebra, Intermediate algebra and Remedial Algebra. Just typing in the math problem and clicking on Solve, Algebrator generates step-by-step solution to the problem, and my algebra homework would be ready. I really recommend the program.
